Paula Matos Fialho ist seit Februar 2019 wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Medizinische Soziologie an der Uniklinik Düsseldorf tätig. Sie hat einen B. Sc. in Biowissenschaften (2003-2007) und einen M. Sc. in Public Health (2010-2012) an der Staatlichen Universität Campinas in Sao Paulo, Brasilien abgeschlossen. 2016 promovierte sie ebendort in Public Health (Epidemiologie) zum Thema Thema „Toxocariasis und klinische Manifestationen: bevölkerungsbasierte Studie“.
Bevor sie ans Institut für Medizinische Soziologie kam arbeitete sie als Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Zentrum für Gesundheitstechnologiebewertung der Universitätsklinik (NATS HC Unicamp) in Brasilien (2012/13) und im öffentlichen Gesundheitssystem in Brasilien (SUS) (2008-2010).
Ihre Forschungsinteressen liegen in der Prävention und Gesundheits- und Bewegungsförderung, Gesundheit, Gesundheitsverhalten und Ungleichheiten bei jungen Menschen.
Lehrerfahrung
Paula unterrichtete Epidemiologie, Gesundheitswesen, Biostatistik und Epidemiologie für die Studiengänge Medizin und Pharmazie (Staatliche Universität Campinas). Außerdem ist sie erfahren in der Betreuung von Masterarbeiten der Public Health.

Research Profile:
Paula Matos Fialho is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Medical Sociology at the University Hospital Düsseldorf since February 2019. She completed a B.Sc. in Biosciences (2003-2007) and a M.Sc. in Public Health (2010-2012) at the State University of Campinas in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In 2016, she obtained her Ph.D. in Public Health (Epidemiology) on the topic "Toxocariasis and clinical manifestations: population-based study".
Before joining the Institute of Medical Sociology, she worked as a research assistant at the Centre for Health Technology Assessment of the University Hospital (NATS HC Unicamp) in Brazil (2012/13) and in the Brazilian Public Health System (SUS) (2008-2010).
Her research interests include prevention and promotion of health and physical activity, health, health behaviour and inequalities among young people.
Teaching Experience:
Paula Matos Fialho has teaching experience in medicine and pharmacy undergraduets programs at the State University of Campinas. She has taught Epidemiology and Healthcare, as well as Biostatistics (in Medicine) and Epidemiology (in Pharmacy). As part of the Master's program in Public Health, she has also reviewed Master's theses.
