Carolina Fioroni Ribeiro da Silva ist seit Juli 2024 Postdoktorandin und Gastwissenschaftlerin am Institut für Medizinische Soziologie der Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf (HHU). Sie wird durch ein Stipendium der Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung und der Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education (CAPES) gefördert. Ihr Doktortitel in Physiotherapie erwarb sie an der Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar), Brasilien, einschließlich eines Forschungspraktikums am IRCSS Fondazione Stella Maris und der Universität Pisa, Italien. Ihre Promotion schloss sie im Februar 2023 an der UFSCar ab.

Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte umfassen die neuropsychomotorische Entwicklung von Säuglingen, typische und atypische kindliche Entwicklung sowie physiotherapeutische Interventionen bei Risikofaktoren. Sie arbeitete an der Übersetzung des Instruments zur motorischen Beurteilung von Säuglingen (Infant Motor Profile) vom Englischen ins Brasilianische Portugiesisch. Sie arbeitet mit einem biopsychosozialen Ansatz und ist erfahren in der Anwendung quantitativer Datenanalysetools wie RStudio und SPSS.

Derzeit untersucht Carolina Risikofaktoren für chronische Erkrankungen bei Kindern und gesundheitliche Anfälligkeiten im Kindesalter. Darüber hinaus wird sie mögliche Hebel zur Förderung der Teilnahme und Prävention prüfen. Sie wird an der Analyse von Beobachtungsdaten aus Schuleingangsuntersuchungen und der routinemäßigen Gesundheitsversorgung arbeiten.

Lehrerfahrung

Sie verfügt über umfassende Lehrerfahrung und war Dozentin für mehrere Spezialisierungskurse in Neuropädiatrie an der Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar), Brasilien. Zudem hat sie wissenschaftliche Abschlussarbeiten betreut und praktische Kurse zur Frühintervention organisiert.

Research Profile

Carolina Fioroni Ribeiro da Silva has been a postdoctoral researcher and guest scientist at the Institute of Medical Sociology at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (HHU) since July 2024. She is funded by a scholarship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and the Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education (CAPES). She obtained her PhD in Physiotherapy from the Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar), Brazil, including a research internship at IRCSS Fondazione Stella Maris and the University of Pisa, Italy. She completed her doctoral studies in February 2023 at UFSCar.

Her research focuses on neuropsychomotor development in infants, typical and atypical child development, as well as physiotherapeutic interventions for risk factors. She worked on the translation of the Infant Motor Profile assessment tool from English to Brazilian Portuguese. She works with a biopsychosocial approach and is experienced in applying quantitative data analysis tools such as RStudio and SPSS.

Currently, Carolina is investigating risk factors for chronic diseases in children and health vulnerabilities in childhood. Additionally, she will examine potential levers for promoting participation and prevention. She will work on the analysis of observational data from school entry screenings and routine healthcare.

Teaching Experience

She has extensive teaching experience and was a lecturer for several specialization courses in neuro-pediatrics at Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar), Brazil. She has also supervised scientific theses and organized practical courses on early intervention.
