Single Disseminated Tumor Cells in the Bone Marrow
This project seeks to elucidate the genomic landscape of disseminated tumor cells (DTCs) in hormone receptor-positive (HR+)/HER2-negative breast cancer patients. By analyzing DTCs from a vast collection of cryopreserved bone marrow samples with extensive clinical follow-up, we aim to identify genomic alterations that influence metastatic relapse timing and severity. Our research could reveal new therapeutic targets and strategies for preventing metastatic progression in early-stage breast cancer. This collaborative effort is led by Prof. Sabine Kasimir-Bauer at the Department for Obstetrics and Gynaecology
