We offer a master’s project under the supervision of Prof. Katrin Amunts at the C. and O. Vogt Institute of Brain Research in Düsseldorf. Together with INM-1 at Forschungszentrum Jülich, we develop 3D models and atlases of the human brain, including the Julich Brain Atlas.

In this master’s project, you will investigate microglia cells in the human brain using histologically stained brain sections. The project focuses on the analysis and characterization of microglia cells in microscopic images and their spatial distribution. Quantitative image analysis and computational methods may be applied to identify, quantify, and map microglia cells. The project will take place in cooperation with Prof. Dr. Marco Prinz and his team at the Institute of Neuropathology, Medical Center at the University of Freiburg.
