Furnishings and laboratory equipment, staff as well as the maintenance of the institute are financed by donations and third-party funds. Particulary, the Heinz Ansmann Foundation for HIV Research, continuously and generously supports our research activities in the field of HIV.

The establishment of the Institute was made possible by the generous support of the Heinz Ansmann Foundation and the Rotary Club of Düsseldorf, among others. A modern ultrasound scanner was financed by the Ministry for Health, Emancipation, Care and Ageing of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. Laboratory equipment was donated by the companies Eppendorf, Qiagen and Roche. Furniture, IT technology and other laboratory equipment are also financed by third-party funding for scientific projects from the Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
