Gisela Eisenreich Research Centre
Thanks to a generous donation by Mrs. Gisela Eisenreich, the Gisela Eisenreich Foundation was established in the 1990s. In the past, it has supported, among other things, the Gisela Eisenreich Lecture on Medical Ethics. After the death of Mrs. Eisenreich, the foundation now supports the activities of the Gisela Eisenreich Research Centre "Nature - Healthcare - Medicine. History, Theory, Ethics" at the Department of the History, Philosophy and Ethics of Medicine at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf.
The mission of the Gisela Eisenreich Research Centre is to promote research on the history and philosophy (including philosophy of science and ethics) of medicine, healthcare and nature. This also includes the history of science.
The Gisela Eisenreich Research Centre is currently pursuing three projects:
1. It supports research at the Department of the History, Philosophy and Ethics of Medicine at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf.
2. It supports the Gisela Eisenreich Lecture, which will be delivered twice per year.
3. It supports a research associate at the Department of the History, Philosophy and Ethics of Medicine at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (the Gisela Eisenreich Fellowship) for two to three years at a time.
An academic coordinator supports the Research Centre.
If you have any questions, please contact the coordinator, Dr. Matthis Krischel (firstname.lastname@example.org).
