Decentralized artificial intelligence for diagnosis, prognostication and response prediction in CRC

Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common and most lethal cancer types in Germany. If detected early, bowel cancer is easily curable. However, despite significant advances in screening and treatment, physicians still face challenges in diagnosis and prognosis.

Aim:  Generate powerful artificial intelligence (AI) systems to significantly improve the treatment of colorectal cancer patients.

Methods: Collaboration of five German university hospitals to investigate how the use of AI and swarm learning (SL) can significantly improve the care and treatment of colorectal cancer patients in both early and advanced stages of colorectal cancer.
