Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) are part of the European Commission's Horizon 2020 framework program for research and innovation. FET promotes excellence-oriented collaborative research with the aim of opening up new innovative fields of technology. One of the two major EU FET flagship projects is the Human Brain Project (HBP), a research project that aims to concentrate all knowledge about the human brain and recreate it using computer-based models and simulations.

EBRAINS is a new digital research infrastructure created as part of the EU-funded Human Brain Project that collects a wide range of data and tools for brain research.

The Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf and the University Hospital Düsseldorf (UDUS) are involved in the HBP with three institutes: the Cécile and Oskar Vogt Institute of Brain Research (Prof. Dr. Katrin Amunts), the Institute of Anatomy I (Prof. Dr. Dr. Svenja Caspers) and the Institute of Systems Neuroscience (Prof. Dr. Simon Eickhoff).

We are responsible for the management and coordination of all three UDUS partners, especially for the financial and human resources management.
