Grant-Writing-Workshop in Bishoftu

From May 27 to 30, 2025, the Oromia Regional Health Bureau in Bishoftu, Ethiopia, organized a four-day workshop on “Writing Successful Research Proposals.” The aim of the training was to strengthen the skills of health professionals, researchers, and program managers from across the region to develop competitive and impactful research projects that address the health needs of the population and align with the priorities of funding organizations.

Participants were guided through the entire application process – from identifying research gaps and formulating compelling questions to structuring and budgeting to final submission. Practical group exercises, expert lectures, and simulated peer reviews made the workshop particularly interactive. A total of 40 participants from various professional groups successfully completed the training and received their certificates in the presence of Professor Netsanet Werkine, head of the Oromia Health Bureau.

Dr. Tafese B. Tufa was one of the organizers and speakers at the workshop, which was held at the request of experts from the Oromia Health Bureau.
