Conference on Tropical Medicine and Global Health (CTM) 2024

From September 19–21, 2024, the University Hospital Düsseldorf, led by the Department of Tropical Medicine, hosted this year’s Conference on Tropical Medicine and Global Health. Held entirely in English, the event brought together experts and participants from across the world, with over 500 attendees from more than 25 countries. Ethiopia, as the conference’s partner country, was prominently represented through keynote lectures and numerous contributions from Ethiopian colleagues.

More than 70 posters covering diverse research topics were presented, including six from the Hirsch Institute of Tropical Medicine. In addition, the STAIRS and COMBAT AMR projects were showcased in oral sessions, contributing to the topic of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), one of the central themes discussed throughout the conference.

The conference offered an inspiring mix of scientific exchange, collaboration, and networking, strengthening international partnerships and advancing the global dialogue in tropical medicine and global health.
