PedSDM

Pediatric Shared Decision Making - Inventory, analysis and recommendations on participation and shared decision making in routine pediatric care

PedSDM is a consortium project funded by the Health Services Research Innovation Fund, in which our team is involved as a consortium partner (consortium lead: University of Heidelberg, Dr. med. Michael Eichinger). In this project, we are developing an evidence gap map for the involvement of children and parents in pediatric decision-making. The aim is to determine which measures are known to strengthen the involvement of children and parents in care processes and decisions and which factors influence this involvement. Furthermore, the knowledge, skills and attitudes of healthcare professionals towards joint decision-making will be surveyed. This work will form the basis for the registration of an S3 guideline on the promotion of shared decision making in pediatrics.
