ONE SUPPORT

Integrated health, social and educational services for children and young people from families with addiction and mental health problems: a qualitative analysis for the Düsseldorf area

Children and young people from families with parents suffering from addiction or mental health problems have complex needs that require support across several areas and stages of their lives. However, the frequent fragmentation of services in the areas of health, education and social services makes it difficult to provide coordinated and needs-based care and support. As a solution, integrated care services are increasingly being established to promote cross-sectoral care for children, young people and their families. A large number of integrated service structures have already been established in practice, but have hardly been scientifically researched to date. The aim of this study is to record, describe and classify existing integrated service structures on the basis of qualitative interviews with professionals in the Düsseldorf area. The focus is on structures and framework conditions that can promote the integration of services, such as management structures, remuneration models and approaches to the exchange of personnel and data.
