Systematic reviews on preventive child protection

With financial support from the Jürgen Manchot Foundation, we are conducting systematic literature reviews on starting points for preventive child protection. For example, we are compiling a summary of the current state of research on influencing factors and mechanisms in relation to the negative consequences of child abuse and neglect. The consequences considered include negative emotional, behavioral and social consequences for the children and adolescents affected. A further review deals with instruments for recording child abuse and neglect by various professional groups. The results provide an overview of previously validated instruments, their psychometric properties and their availability for German-speaking countries. On this basis, new instruments can be developed, existing instruments improved and instruments culturally adapted or validated for use in Germany.
