Theresa Heering

Theresa Heering studied Human Movement in Sport and Exercise at the University of Münster (B.Sc.) and Sport Science - Diagnostics and Intervention in Sport at Ruhr University Bochum (M.Sc.). Theresa specialised in physical activity promotion through movement skills development in children. During her studies, Theresa was involved in various research projects. For example, she took over the sub-project management of an international research project PACCS (Physical Activity in Childhood Cancer Survivors) to record physical activity in children and adolescents in cancer aftercare at the University Hospital in Essen. Since 2020, she has been doing her PhD at the Centre for Physical Activity, Sport and Exercise Science at Coventry University (UK) and at the School of Health and Social Development at Deakin University (Australia) on the prevention of cruciate ligament ruptures in childhood.
Since 2024, she has been working in the field of child health services research at the UKD. There she took on a leading position in the EUthyroid2 project on the prevention of iodine deficiency in young women and during pregnancy.
